An emergency demand response event has been activated by PJM Interconnection today, October 13, to help stabilize the grid due to extreme heat.

An emergency demand response event has been activated by PJM Interconnection on October 13 to help stabilize the grid during extreme heat. If you are enrolled in Energy Wise Rewards™, your thermostat will be automatically adjusted by up to 4 degrees for the duration of an event. You can opt out of the event by changing your thermostat.

PJM emergency events are called during periods of exceptionally high electricity demand to help maintain grid reliability. Participating customers help support a more reliable electric system by temporarily reducing energy use.
